The Final Stretch

Well, the past month has been a little crazy trying to get things done with the house. First, we were at the house last month when they had started installing the stone. Andy noticed that it didn't look like the stone we had chosen... it wasn't! The stone people had ordered the wrong one so the installers had to come back and chip it off of the house! Then we had to wait because our stone was in a warehouse in Nashville under several feet of water! Second, we had problems with granite that was supposed to be held for us being sold to another customer. This put us behind while we waited for new granite to come in. Third, I had a carpet picked out for part of the house, then got a call last week that it had been discontinued so I had to pick something new. It was a month of several things going wrong. HOWEVER, as a whole, this building process has gone very smoothly so I suppose it was only a matter of time before we hit some speedbumps! Here is a picture of how the outside looks today.

Our contractor told me today that the house should be finished in one month, by the end of June. On the "to be completed" list: installing plumbing fixtures, appliances, stain hardwood floor, install carpeting, pour driveway, and landscaping. My next post just may be pictures of a completed house!
